For 15 years I have been a hands on fabricator welded so I know steel work, after that form I have been a CAD draughtsman 2d and 3d mostly 3d On the 4th of July I started 5 day training with Advance Steel, the training is very good and in depth but there is a lot to take in. For this I must give it 5 Stars. One person found this helpful. This is a well written introduction to Advance Steel.
The author takes the beginner logically from the very basics to BIM modeling of two steel frames, portal frames, trusses, connections, stairs, plate development and ends with extended modeling and productivity tools. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who already has Advance Steel and wants to really learn the program.
Report abuse. Worse book ever written. This book just generalize everything and only gives a few paragraphs on each subject. Very poorly written. Real-world industry examples are specially chosen for the structural steel detailing and BIM industry.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who already has Advance Steel advamce wants to really learn the program. Report abuse. Worse book ever written. This book just generalize everything and only gives a few paragraphs on each subject. Very poorly written. Advanced Ahtodesk is a very complex program, BIM modeling is fairly easy. Getting your details on paper is difficult, this book does a poor job explaining how.
This book appears to have been written in a hurry just to get it to the publisher. The explanations are there but they are minimal and the book is often more like a script saying, "click on this" or " do runnint with minimal or no explanations as to why.
This is important because if you know WHY you are doing something, you can understand how to use it in other microsoft visio 2010 gratis free. That being said, this is the only set of books that I could find on Advance Steel. Frree program is not very intuitive and being fluent in AutoCAD is not much help. AutoDesk sucks at wit in this particular case for not making this a more useful program.
